Our Staff

The Reverend Mr. David J. Hanna, Pastor.  Rev. Hanna was born in Washington, Pennsylvania and raised in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area.  He is a graduate of Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, and received his Masters of Divinity Degree from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia.  He and his wife, Brenda, have two children.                                               

Mrs. Brenda Hanna, Director of Christian Education.          

Dr. Joseph Baunoch, Director of Music Ministry.  Dr. Baunoch holds a Doctorate in Music from Michigan State University, and holds a Master's degree from Bowling Green State University and a Bachelor's degree from DePaul University, all in Voice Performance.  Having performed over 30 bass-baritone operatic roles across the U.S., he has also taught Italian, German and French diction, class voice for instrumental education majors, and class voice for non-majors at Grand Valley State University, Allendale, Michigan, as well as voice lessons to students and community members as a member of faculty at Michigan State University Community Music School, East Lansing, Michigan.  Dr. Baunoch is a Voice Instructor at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  He and his wife, Dina, have two children -- Joey, 4, and Maizie, 2 -- and are expecting a third child in April.

Mrs. Roberta Buyers Jones, Organist, first became a member of Calvary Church in 1954, and was active here until she went to Pitt to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration.  She was organist-director at the Presbyterian Church of Mount Washington for thirty years where she was ordained as both a Deacon and an Elder, taught Sunday School and served on committees in the local church and at Pittsburgh Presbytery. She is active in the Presbyterian Association of Musicians, on the board of the Pittsburgh Chapter, and attends the yearly Conference on Worship and Music. Bobby's husband, Harry, died in 2001, shortly before she was asked to be our organist.
  
Mrs. Rebecca (Becky) Becker, Director of Community Assistance and Mission, is a life resident of Indiana County.  She graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she earned both her B.S. and M.S. Degrees in Business Education.  Becky has taught business subjects and computer science at the high school, community college and university levels, was employed as a corporate trainer/project manager for seven years, and owned and managed a small business.  She has served as a mission chairperson and outreach committee member at her home church, volunteers at the Community Arts Center in Johnstown and also participates in Civil War Reenacting with her husband, Don.  Becky and Don enjoy ballroom dancing and are very active with their three sons and their families which include seven grandchildren.

Mr. Richard Smith, Church Sexton, describes himself as a handyman/jack-of-all trades. He has a varied background ranging from construction and gardening to ballet and community theater, and these experiences help him to maintain the church and its grounds as well as to assist with Calvary's liturgical arts program and other church functions. He also has sung in the Chancel Choir. Richard and his wife are parents of a son and a daughter.
