The Staff at Calvary
The Reverend Mr. David J. Hanna, Pastor. Rev. Hanna was born in Washington, Pennsylvania and raised in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area. He is a graduate of Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, and received his Masters of Divinity Degree from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. Before coming to Calvary Presbyterian Church, Rev. Hanna served as Associate Pastor of the Kirk in the Hills Presbyterian Church, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. David's wife, Brenda, worked as a Recreational Therapy Specialist for 15 years and is currently developing an internet business. Their daughter, Katelyn, has begun her second year at Lehigh University. Their son, James, is in the third grade. Email Rev. Hanna here.

James Dearing, Director of Music, is Director of Choral
Studies in the Department of
Music at IUP. He is a native of Virginia and a
graduate of the School of Music at the University of Wisconsin/Madison, where he
received a Master of Music degree. Before coming to Indiana, he was assistant
director of the 7th U.S. Army Soldiers' Chorus in Heidelberg,
Germany, and also toured internationally as a soloist for the Roger Wagner
Chorale. Jim is a member of the Audubon Society, an avid birdwatcher -- an
interest which he and his wife, Kristi, share.
Roberta Buyers Jones, Organist,
first became a member of Calvary
Church in 1954, and was active here until she went to Pitt to earn a Bachelor of
Business Administration. She was organist-director at the Presbyterian
Church of Mount Washington for thirty years where she was ordained as both a
Deacon and an Elder, taught Sunday School and served on committees in the local
church at and Pittsburgh Presbytery. She is active in the Presbyterian
Association of Musicians, on the board of the Pittsburgh Chapter, and attends
the yearly Conference on Worship and Music. Bobby's husband, Harry, died in
2001, shortly before she was asked to be our organist.
Kristi Dearing, Director of Youth Choirs
is a native to Wisconsin. She studied vocal performance, piano, and theater at
the School of Music at the University of Wisconsin/Madison, where she received a
Master of Music degree. Kristi toured internationally with the Roger Wagner
Chorale. Since coming to Indiana, she has served as president of the former
Monday Music Club and is now president of the local chapter of Music Teachers
National Association. She conducts private lessons in piano and voice. Kristi
enjoys raising herbs, reading, and watching birds -- an interest she shares with
her husband, Jim.
Leslie
Krummert, Director of Community Assistance and Mission / Office Coordinator / Bookkeeper,
obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Marketing from
Ohio University. She was employed for seventeen years in marketing before
forming and operating her own consulting company for three years. Leslie and her
husband, Herman, have three children: Matthew is a software engineer;
Nicole is majoring in Spanish and Political Science at the University of Dayton;
and Sarah is at Indiana Junior High School.
Vicky Westley,
Church Secretary, is an Indiana native
and attended IUP. Before joining Calvary's staff as secretary, she worked as a
chiropractic assistant and as a secretary for the United Campus Ministry at IUP.
In 1999, she received certification through the Presbyterian Church (USA) as a
Fellow in Church Administration. She and her husband, Bill, also an active
member of Calvary, have two children and four grandchildren. Email Vicky

Richard Smith, Church Sexton, describes himself as a
handyman/jack-of-all trades. He
has a varied background ranging from
construction and gardening to ballet and community theater, and these
experiences help him to maintain the church and its grounds as well as to assist
with Calvary's liturgical arts program and other church functions. He also has
sung in the Chancel Choir. Richard and his wife are parents of a son and a
daughter.
